Art League of Henderson County

About Us

Our Mission

To cultivate a thriving visual arts community by supporting working artists, providing hands-on creative experiences, and connecting people to art through exhibitions, education, and shared studio spaces.

Our Vision

A community where visual art is created, experienced, and lived every day
where artists have the space and support to grow,
where creativity is visible in studios, galleries, and public spaces,
and where people of all backgrounds actively participate in making and experiencing art.

Our Values

Access & Inclusion
Art is for everyone. We provide direct, hands-on access to visual arts through classes, studios, and exhibitions that welcome people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

Artist Support & Development
Artists are at the center of our work. We provide space, tools, professional opportunities, and community that allow artists to develop their practice, share their work, and build sustainable creative lives.

Artistic Excellence
We foster high-quality visual art by supporting artists at every stage and presenting thoughtful exhibitions, workshops, and learning experiences that reflect the richness and diversity of contemporary and traditional practices.

Community Connection Through Making
We believe art is most powerful when people engage directly in the creative process. Through classes, workshops, and shared studios, we create opportunities for meaningful connection, learning, and collaboration.

Sustainability & Stewardship
We responsibly invest in our people, programs, and facilities to ensure the long-term vitality of a community-centered visual arts hub.

Volunteer and Participate in Special Events

Monthly Art for Lunch programs provide insight to art-related topics, art demonstrations, and the business of being an artist.

The Art League relies on volunteers: artists and art enthusiasts in our community. We invite you to become an integral part of our creative community by volunteering your time and skills. There are numerous opportunities to get involved and make a meaningful impact in various aspects of our organization. Whether you have a passion for art, event planning, social media, or administration, we have a place for you!

Our Community Partners

The Art League’s Sustaining Partners program is a great opportunity for individuals, businesses, and organizations to support our art programs while aligning charitable giving to their interests. We offer a range of funding levels and options, which include sponsorships and advertising in brochures for special art events like ArtScape, Celebrate Art, and La Vie en Rosé.
