The latest expansion of the Clay Studio includes a new Members’ Area, offering 24/7 studio access for ceramic artists while creating separate workshop and classroom spaces. This enhancement supports both professional and recreational potters by providing a focused, well-equipped environment for artistic growth.

Key upgrades include:

  • Additional Upgraded Skutt Kiln capable of larger works
  • New slab roller, doubling capacity for hand-building projects
  • Additional Brent CXC wheels, expanding opportunities for wheel-throwing
  • Extruder for special projects
  • Hot Box for quick drying
  • Glazing Room fully stock with dips and commercial glazes
  • Tools, wide selection 
  • Expanded work tables, wedging stations, and storage — more than doubling members’ space for tools, materials, and works-in-progress

Located at 2015 Asheville Highway in Hendersonville NC, the Studio is designed for accessibility, with ample parking, a loading dock, and ramp access. Members of the Stuart Glassman Clay Studio also benefit from exclusive opportunities to exhibit their work at the Art League’s Art Place Gallery in Hendersonville’s 7th Avenue Historic District — the city’s emerging arts hub.

Beyond member access, the Studio offers opportunities for artists to teach and take classes, building a robust cycle of creative exchange. The Art League is also expanding its team of studio assistants to support the growth of programs and maintain safe, professional facilities.
